Salem Motorcycle Club has been in existence
since the 40’s
and has grown into what it is today, a non-profit
volunteer run club that sponsors off-road racing events
for both motorcycles and quads alike. There have been
many past presidents but two in particular stand out in
our memories, Corky Wooster and Willy Miller.
They were strong advocates of motorcycling and
firmly believed in the importance of putting on class
events that ensure both spectators and racers alike have
a good time in a safe family style environment.
SMC has a strong belief that without youth
riders, the sport doesn’t have a future which is why
Willy developed the annual SMC Mini-bike giveaway.
Each year SMC purchases a mini-bike and gives
every youth racer a ticket for a chance to win each time
they race a SMC event. A winner is drawn at our last
race of the year and they walk away with a brand new
mini-bike.
Over the years Salem Motorcycle Club has promoted hare
scramble races at variety of locations in Ohio including
our current locations, SkyView Raceway in Lisbon and Big
Valley in East Palestine. The club is currently
pursuing plans to expand our facilities at SkyView
Raceway to include a new clubhouse and Motocross track
and hopes to ready to add Motocross to our race schedule
for the 2013 season.
